NOVITA YUNUS AT AMAZON INDIA FASHION WEEK A/W 17


AIWF A/W 17 showcased another great event by bringing Indian handlooms on ramp through collection of renowned designers.

The first day was dedicated to 71 designers, who showcased different ensembles from corners of India .

One of the such kick start was when FDCI collaborated with Jakarta Fashion week represented by NOVITA YUNUS where AIFW A/W 17 brought the glimpse of Indonesia on stage.

Her collection was titled as BUMI-LANGIT prepared for AIFW 17 , which was inspired by the idea of balancing subtle colour palettes of autumn leaves and the cold winter sky.

The collection had various techniques and materials, such as embroidered clothes, eco–print process and gurut hand-woven.

Keeping in mind the name, Novita said that her collection BUMI-LANGIT means sky and earth in Indonesians language which she displayed through by using Indonesian leaf material.

The colour palettes were expressed in varieties of kaftans,palazzos, traditional embroidered kebayas and other fashionable items combining ochre, dark chocolate, light brown, olive green for earth tone with dark blue and silver for sky shade.

With the dresses, the models carried some matching accessories to add on to the collection and they were: clutches, fringed tote bags, Surya Majapahit inspired gold plated necklaces, brooches and buckled belts. Their looks were completed with Kalimantan rattan sandals.
